Casanova variations on desire is a three-movement choreographic journey that explores the figure of Casanova, transforming it into a contemporary reflection on desire, seduction, and human relationships. Three distinct yet complementary female perspectives deconstruct the myth to question what still moves us toward others today: the need to be seen, the pleasure of play, the vertigo of encounter, the weakness that every impulse brings with it.

Far from the univocal image of the great seducer, Casanova becomes a symbolic, mutable, and plural presence, spanning bodies, identities, and generations. The stage transforms into a space of attraction and distance, of freedom and risk, where desire emerges as a vital force capable of continually reinventing the rules of relationships. Between euphoria and fragility, innocence and awareness, play and sentiment, the dancers shape a physical narrative that explores the subtle boundary between desiring and being desired.

A triptych that doesn’t tell the story of Casanova, but what his name continues to evoke: the tension toward others, the allure of uncertainty, and the irreducible complexity of human desire.
